Dhivehi Language
Dhivehi (also spelled: Divehi) is an Indo-European language. It is the official language of the Republic of Maldives; and is spoken there by approximately 300,000 people.
Dhivehi is closely related to the language of Sinhalese, which is spoken in Sri Lanka.
Throughout its history, the Dhivehi language has been influenced by several languages, including English, French, Hindi, Persian, and, most importantly, Arabic.
