Thai

Our professional linguists include native Thai speakers who are experienced in the nuances of the language and the requirements of effective translation and interpreting.

Thai Language

Thai (also called Siamese) is a member of the Tai language family of Southeast Asia.  It is the standard spoken and literary language of Thailand.

The majority of the Thai vocabulary contains monosyllabic words.  Thai speakers use tones to distinguish between words that are otherwise completely identical.  Thai has five tones: mid, low, falling, high, and rising.

The Thai vocabulary contains many loanwords from Austronesian, Chinese, Khmer, Pali, 16th century Portuguese, Sanskrit, and more recently, English.

There are approximately 60-65 million Thai speakers.
