Punjabi

Our professional linguists include native Punjabi speakers who are experienced in the nuances of the language and the requirements of effective translation and interpreting.

Punjabi Language

Punjabi is a central Indo-Aryan language. It is spoken in the Punjab, which is now divided between India and Pakistan.

Punjabi is one of 14 regional languages recognized by the Indian constitution. Its vocabulary is closely related to Western Hindi.

Punjabi is written in two alphabets: Lahnda, which is indigenous to the region and closely related to Devanagari script; and Gurmukhi, established by the Sikh Guru Angad (who ruled 1539–52) for use in scriptures of the Sikhs. It is now used for general purposes as well.
