Our professional linguists include native Karen speakers who are experienced in the nuances of the language and the requirements of effective translation and interpreting.
Karen Language
Karen is a language cluster spoken in lower Myanmar, and in areas bordering Thailand. The Karen languages are commonly divided into three groups corresponding to the region of Myanmar where they are spoken: northern (including Taungthu), central (including Bwe and Geba), and southern (including Pwo and Sgaw). Pwo and Sgaw are the only Karen languages that possess written forms.
The Karen languages have been strongly influenced by the Tai and Afro-Asiatic languages.
Notable features of the Karen language are the use of tones to distinguish between identically spelled words, as well as the placement of verbs between subject and object.
