Albanian Language

Albanian is spoken by approximately 7 million people, the majority of whom reside in Southeast Europe.  It is the official language of both Albania and the Republic of Macedonia.  It is spoken in Albania, Australia, the Balkans, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Scandinavia, Serbia, Sicily, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Albanian language is part of the Indo-European language family, comprising its own distinct branch.  Albanian consists of two main dialects: Geg and Tosk.  The Albanian alphabet has 29 consonants and 7 vowels.
